10. Course Delivery Tools

Throughout this course, you will be incorporating two very important technology tools: The ITPM course web site & TeachNet.

1. ITPM Course Web Site (http://uttc.blackboard.com/)

  • You should check into the class site at least once a week. This site will contain information about the course content, assignment instructions, and newsletters with updates of information. To see the course content and assignments, go to the "Outline" section in the left frame of the site. The "Outline" section also provides the handbook and the glossary for the course. It is important that you check back periodically to ensure that you are on top of things!

2. TeachNet

  • About TeachNet: We are going to use TeachNet for our virtual workspace and communication. TeachNet is the name that we have given to our communication system that uses a network-based collaborative tool called FirstClass. TeachNet is a Web-based communication tool that not only enables us to send email and voice messages to each other, but allows us to communicate in real time with online chat, set up special virtual spaces for team projects and activities, create Web pages, have individual and team calendars, edit the same document, and other features.

  • How does TeachNet apply to YOU? You will need to log into TeachNet on a DAILY BASIS. Through TeachNet you will be able to actively communicate with classmates and instructors about assignments, class discussions, and reflections. We cannot stress how important it is that you check this daily and respond in a timely manner! You will also use TeachNet to turn in assignments.
